After importing the SCOM Management Pack, the discovery of the Service Management Connector service should be enabled, as it is disabled by default.

Enabling Service Management Connector discovery

Follow the steps below to enable the discovery:

• Open the SCOM Operations Console
• Go to the Authoring pane and choose Management Pack Objects -> Object Discoveries
• Set the scope to The Backbone Service Management Connector Class
• Find the discovery rule The Backbone Service Management Connector Class Discovery
• Choose Overrides -> Override the Object Discovery -> For a specific object of class: Windows Computer
• In the Select Object wizard, choose the computer object on which Service Management Connector is installed and click OK
• Mark the override property Enabled and change the Override Value to True
• Choose a destination Management Pack and click OK

Configuring override for non-default installation folder

If Service Management Connector is not installed in the default installation folder, an override has to be created for the Configuration File Path discovery.
Follow the steps below to create the override:

• Open the SCOM Operations Console
• Go to the Authoring pane and choose Management Pack Objects -> Object Discoveries
• Set the scope to The Backbone Service Management Connector Class
• Find the discovery rule The Backbone Service Management Connector Class Discovery
• Choose Overrides -> Override the Object Discovery -> For a specific object of class: Windows Computer
• In the Select Object wizard, choose the computer object on which Service Management Connector is installed and click OK
• Mark the override property Configuration File Path and change the Override Value to the path the connector is installed
• Choose a destination Management Pack and click OK
